On Friday of Superbowl weekend, Harper Library FOLSOI and Carey Henry Keefe welcomed a full house to our Meet the Author event.
The attendees were treated to a presentation on Keefe’s book “A Tide of Dreams.” We learned how football, lifelong friends, family and history were all intertwined and made a significant impact on the successes of WWII. By using football training techniques utilized by coaches, Carney Laslie (Keefe’s grandfather), Paul “Bear” Bryant and Frank Mosley, naval aviators were trained to be their best, to stay focused and succeed. Keefe lovingly shared knowledge, insight and personal snippets in a way only a granddaughter (so proud of her grandfather) could do.
