Cindy Philips, President of FOLSOI and Petra Fey, FOLSOI board member, made a presentation to the Southport Lions Club, thanking them for the generous grants that they have given for audio books and large print books for more than a decade. They also gave them an update on the changing needs of the Southport and Oak Island library branches and the many good things FOLSOI is doing for our community. The Lions Club members expressed their continued commitment to supporting literacy initiatives and asked thoughtful questions about how their future contributions could best serve patrons with visual impairments and reading challenges in the area.
