Brunswick County Library Director Patricia Dew spoke on WHQR (Wilmington – 91.3 FM and 91.3/HD1, Streaming online at WHQR.org) on February 10, 2025 about the cost to public libraries for E-Books and E-Audiobooks.  Libraries pay $60 (on average) for E-Books and they can loan them for 24 months or 26 checkouts, whichever comes first.  E-Audiobooks cost $100 (on average) for the same loan conditions.
