On May 21 at the Brunswick County Literary Council’s Spelling Bee, our FOLSOI team of Jeanette Harrison-Sullivan and Lynne Sniffen had a respectful performance. The team was committed to making us proud, as they practiced ahead of time and we’re ready in their matching white shirts! Unfortunately, they were tripped up with a word I’ve never used – execrable – which was a tough one, especially as the young man reading the words had a southern accent.  No excuses, they went down with grace and cheered for the other spellers until the very end. Thanks to Jeanette and Lynne for their time and effort.  Maybe next year!
