BEMC to Fund Summer Reading Program
FOLSOI is proud to have been one of the nonprofits receiving a community grant from BEMC. We were awarded $1,000 supporting summer reading at both branches. Cindy Phillips, Vice President of FOLSOI, and Helen Whittaker, FOLSOI Ways & Means Committee member received the award. Thank you BEMC for supporting children’s literacy in our local libraries!

Volunteer Update
FOLSOI volunteers once again reported a record number of volunteer hours in the month of April: 589 hours! The Book Sale team in particular recorded a 20% increase over March hours as they initiated the “open 6 days a week” format. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers!

Join the Birthday Book Club!
Celebrate a child’s birthday AND support Harper Library. Create lasting memories by sponsoring the purchase of exciting new kids’ books for Harper Library that will celebrate your child! Your child’s birthday month, librarians will choose a new book matching your child’s age range. A bookplate dedicating the book in your child’s honor will be placed inside; your child will get a birthday card acknowledging the gift made in his or her name. Birthday Club donations are $20 per child.
